NEW BELFAST TRUST WELCOME PROGRAMME
How staff are welcomed into the Belfast Trust is changing! | Effective from September 2021
New Staff will be provided with our updated, modernised Welcome
Programme. This contains key Trust information and now also includes
all all all all core Statutory and Mandatory training. This training has been
digitised to ensure that it is engaging and interactive as well as available
to new staff on their own mobile devices at a time that is convenient to
them. We hope this means they will feel part of the Trust right from the
start, effectively welcomed, supported and in a better position to provide
'safe, effective and compassionate care'.
This innovative programme has been created in response to our learning
from the Covid-19 pandemic. In April 2020, the Trust changed how we
welcome new staff to the organisation replacing the Monthly Welcome
Event with an interim onboarding programme. The success of this
approach has led to the creation of an even better, user friendly and
accessible Welcome Programme, which has been tested with a range of
staff who provided positive feedback.
New staff will receive, via e-mail, the Welcome Programme with links to
the following core training and awareness resources which will take up
to three hours to complete:
• Digital Corporate Welcome Publication
• Safeguarding awareness
• Infection prevention control awareness
• Health and Safety awareness
• Fire Safety Training awareness
• Q2020 Level 1
• Equality for staff
• Manual Handling theory
• Data Protection
• Adverse Incidents Reporting
Please note that staff will be required to also complete their local
induction and additional Mandatory training specific to their role.
