The Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) programme was mandated in 2018 by
the Department of Health (DOH) who introduced an Induction and Development
Pathway for Nursing Assistants.
The RQF Level 2 and Level 3 pathway is as follows:

All Nursing Assistants within the Belfast Trust are required to complete an RQF Certificate which is
relevant to their role.
Band 2 Nursing Assistant will complete RQF Level 2 - 14 weeks
Band 3 Nursing Assistants will complete RQF Level 3 - 16 weeks
Agreed closing dates for nomination has been reached and all
places secured
Managers agree Nursing Assistance attendance on RQF
Certificate - ensuring candidates meet all the criteria for
attending and have protected time to attend
Nurse Development Leads and/or Clinical Leas complete list of
candidates for RQF Programme on MS Teams live nomination
